FAQ
For whom is Men’s Forge?
It’s for men who see the need and want to start a men’s group but don’t know how. It’s group coaching that teaches and supports as you start and lead your group.
How do I start?
After you send in the application and are approved, I’ll send an invitation for a 30-minute phone call. If you’re ready to go forward, I’ll notify you when a group has gathered and we’re ready to start our online meetings.
What happens in our meetings?
I provide input, guidance, and support as you start your men’s group. Every group leader shares where he’s at, his struggles, victories, questions and progress with his group.
How often do we meet?
We’ll meet once every two weeks on Zoom for three months, then re-evaluate.
When do I start gathering my group of men, and how big can it be?
After our first meetings, when you have a pretty good idea how to launch your group, that’s when you start to invite friends, neighbors, men from your church, fellow-students, etc. to join. Start with a small group of 4-8 men.
Will the material be provided?
It depends on the need of the group. Once we’ve gathered and determined what each group needs most, we’ll make a plan. There’s a lot of good material out there in English.
Group leaders using German and Russian have less access to teaching material on this topic, so we provide the lessons in those languages.
Can I invite men of no faith or other faiths into the group?
Absolutely. We want to create a safe, non-threatening environment where men feel free to share their struggles, ask questions, and get input.
